Chihuahuan Desert, Mexico, 2012
Roadside Altars and shrines dot the countryside along the border of Texas and further into Mexico. I have been visiting and documenting them on trip to Mexico long before moving to the Big Bend. The people of Mexico are known for their intimate relationship and celebration of death as a transition point as evident in Dia de Los Muertos. The shrines and memorials remind us of the enduring connection between here and the beyond.
